By Christian Edwards SYDNEY, June 27, (Xinhua) -- In extraordinary circumstances, Kevin Rudd has reassumed the leadership of the Australian Labor Party and consequently becomes the Australian Prime Minister for the second time, three years after he was himself deposed by Julia Gillard and with a divided nation just months away from a federal election. The mandarin-speaking Rudd won a party ballot 57 votes to 45. Treasurer Wayne Swan resigned from the position, as did Rudd's nemesis, the first female Australian leader, Julia Gillard, who has previously vowed to quit politics if defeated.
